Active paper sheets for packaging fresh fruits and vegetables. A new scientific article highlights the value of using active packaging systems for preserving fresh fruits and vegetables. These active paper sheets can be used as box bottoms, for example, when packaging fresh fruits and vegetables in folding plastic boxes (widely used in mass retail). Weight loss and spoilage due to mold are reduced, and the product’s freshness is better preserved. The results are visible even after storage times of less than 5 days.
