BIOENCAPSULATION AND iPACKAGING, S.L. is a technology-based spinoff of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), launched in 2017 (with the participation of four professors and two private companies) to market certain technologies developed and patented within the Research Group led by Professor Dr. Antonio López Gómez, professor at the UPCT, through R&D projects.
Since its inception, it has actively participated in various R&D projects focused on the nanoencapsulation and microencapsulation of bioactive substances, such as essential oils and microorganisms, for the development of new products and new technologies for active food processing and packaging. It also manufactures and markets these bioactive substances and their encapsulates.
100% natural
Use of natural active ingredients approved for organic farming, thus eliminating synthetic chemicals.
0% waste
At the product level, zero-waste treatment. At the packaging level, technology capable of eliminating plastic formats.
0% refuse
The technologies developed allow for
increasing shelf life, transferring a reduction in spoilage and rejects to the food chain.
We are committed to doing our part and ability to make this world a better place.
Development and innovation, problem-solving, competitiveness, passion, and quality. Bio-iPack understands R&D as the value that makes the future possible. R&D as a corporate culture contributes to economic growth and provides high-value-added knowledge.
